José María Berrio (CEO): “Hotel establishments in the Dominican Republic are increasingly committed to quality and safety as a differentiating factor compared to other tourist destinations”
The CEO of the international company HS Consulting, José María Berrio, has presented the annual “Health & Safety” awards, which accredit and certify hotels in the Dominican Republic that comply with the highest international standards of Quality, Hygiene, and Safety.
Among the establishments that have received this certificate are Bahía Príncipe, Grupo Palladium, Lopesan Costa Bávaro, Majestic Resorts, Casa de Campo Resorts and Villas, Edén Roc, Catalonia Hotels, Blau Natura Park, Sanctuary Cap Cana, La Romana Country Club, and W&P Santo Domingo.

“These hotels have implemented an advanced quality management system to monitor their critical control points in Food Safety, Water Hygiene, General Safety, etc., to meet the requirements of both health authorities and tour operators. But most importantly, to guarantee the well-being and safety of their guests,” explained biologist and biochemist José María Berrio, CEO of the company with branches in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Cuba, and Jamaica.
In this regard, Berrio highlighted that “the Dominican Republic is a country committed to quality; therefore, hotels are increasingly choosing to strengthen their safety and hygiene departments as a differentiating factor from other tourist destinations that are not as safe from a hygienic-sanitary perspective. At HS Consulting, we work together with hotels that care about quality, offering continuous training and a program of internal audits and control of laboratory analysis of food, surfaces, and drinking water to verify that all handling and prevention processes are correctly followed.”
